It’s been a minute since I last posted. Next weekend, I’ll be able to start getting more active, which means I’ll be able to start making more fabric. I’m always surprised at how labour-intensive it is to do a full batch, but while I’ve been waiting to be allowed to do things, I’ve got some stuff that will make it easier to do. I have been adding some dyed floss to the shop though. A few weeks ago, I used up all my energy on dyeing three batches. Two of those have been photographed and listed, with the third still sitting on the table waiting for its turn. I’ve got 15 skeins each of Watermelon and Midnight listed. I’ve also got loads of new beads in, so once I get the previous batch all listed, I’ll start on those. I’m just a little sick of beads for a while.
At some point, my tablet got damaged, so I haven’t been able to work on new patterns lately. I have been uploading some that I’d previously pulled down, and will be updating all of them in the coming weeks. I finally got my tablet replaced yesterday though, and got it broken in by drawing some dinosaurs. It’s old art that I reworked for a pattern, so I can’t remember what kind of dinosaurs they’re meant to be. Nor can I remember what I’d used as my references, so I’m not even sure how accurate they are. I was definitely channelling ‘horse’ while colouring them at any rate. But idk, I think they’re cute so I posted them.
I want to do more jumbo patterns as well. This one’s 500 stitches tall, instead of the usual 350 that I normally do. I also originally drew this in Procreate on my iPad, but the whole reason I got a Huion is because the iPad refuses to hold a charge for anything now. It is about 10 years old though, and a Huion was cheaper than a new iPad, even having had to buy two of them.
I don’t have any plans for how often I’ll release new patterns. They’ll happen when they happen. I also need to finish putting together the colouring book versions for a bunch of different patterns, and I think some patterns only have the colouring book version available. As I update everything over the coming weeks, I’m going to start bundling both versions into unified listings. I also want to start offering bundled packs of patterns, but I want to fully take stock of everything I have before I do that.
I’ve also been playing around with Flosshaven lately, which is setting up as a Ravelry for cross stitch. You can follow my shop profile to be notified of new patterns, though it doesn’t have any infrastructure for physical supplies at this time. I’m not even sure if that’s in the cards, but it’s been a while since I looked at the road map. You can also follow my user profile for updates on what I’m actually working on, because I am terrible at posting photos to social media, even when I do remember to take them.
I am trying to get more consistent with actually working on projects though. I’ve got so much else going on right now, and I got exactly zero stitching done during my downtime last month. I’m also trying to stick to doing one big one, and one small one at any given time. I need to swap out the floss from my clownfish for the bluebird’s set so I can finally get that one finished. I may have to redesignate that as an advanced pattern, though. That or rechart it altogether. It’s proving to be a bit of a pill to stitch, but we’ll see how it goes.
Expect much of the same going forward. I’ll be back eventually with a new update.
